Surah Name: Al-Isra Meaning: The Night Journey
|
وَيَدْعُ الإِنسَانُ بِالشَّرِّ دُعَاءهُ بِالْخَيْرِ وَكَانَ الإِنسَانُ عَجُولاً WayadAAu alinsanu bi(al)shsharri duAAaahu bi(a)lkhayri wakana alinsanu AAajoola(n) And man prays for evil as he should pray for good, and man is ever hasty. (17:11) |
WajaAAalna allayla wa(al)nnahara ayatayni famahawna ayata allayli wajaAAalnaayata a(l)nnahari mubsiratan litabtaghoo fadlan min rabbikum walitaAAlamoo AAadada a(l)ssineena wa(a)lhisaba wakulla shayin fassalnahu tafseela(n) And We-SWT have appointed the night and the day as two Signs; then We-SWT blurred the Sign of the night and made the Sign of the day illuminating that you may seek grace from your Rabb-SWT , and that you may know the number of years and the reckoning; and everything We-SWT have detailed in full details. (17:12) |
Wakulla insanin alzamnahu tairahu fee AAunuqihi wanukhriju lahu yawma alqiyamati kitaban yalqahu manshoora(n) And every man: We-SWT have fastened his actions round his neck, and We-SWT shall bring forth unto him on the Day of Judgment a book preferred him open. (17:13) |
اقْرَأْ كَتَابَكَ كَفَى بِنَفْسِكَ الْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكَ حَسِيبًا Iqra kitabaka kafa binafsika alyawma AAalayka haseeba(n) Read your book; suffices today your soul against you as a reckoner. (17:14) |
Mani ihtada fainnama yahtadee linafsihi waman dalla fainnama yadillu AAalayhawala taziru waziratun wizra okhra wama kunna muAAaththibeena hattanabAAatha rasoola(n) Whoever is guided, it is only for himself that he is guided, and whoever strays it is only against his soul that he strays: and no one laden bears the load of another. And We-SWT do not chastise until We-SWT have raised a Messenger-AS. (17:15) |
Waitha aradna an nuhlika qaryatan amarna mutrafeeha fafasaqoo feeha fahaqqa AAalayha alqawlu fadammarnaha tadmeera(n) And when We-SWT intend that We-SWT shall destroy a town We-SWT Command its affluent inhabitants, then they transgress therein, and thus the word is justified on them. Then We-SWT annihilate it completely. (17:16) |
Wakam ahlakna mina alqurooni min baAAdi noohin wakafa birabbika bithunoobi AAibadihi khabeeran baseeran And many a generation We-SWT have destroyed after Nuh-AS. And suffices your Rabb-SWT , the Aware, the Beholder, for the offences of His-SWT bondsmen. (17:17) |
Man kana yureedu alAAajilata AAajjalna lahu feeha ma nashao liman nureedu thumma jaAAalna lahu jahannama yaslaha mathmooman madhoora(n) Whoever intends the quick-passing world We-SWT hasten to him therein whatever We-SWT please to whom We-SWT intend; thereafter We-SWT shall appoint for him Hell where he shall roast, reproved, damned. (17:18) |
Waman arada alakhirata wasaAAa laha saAAyaha wahuwa muminun faolaika kana saAAyuhum mashkoora(n) And whoever intends the Hereafter and strives therefore with due striving while he is a believer, then those! Their striving shall be appreciated. (17:19) |
كُلاًّ نُّمِدُّ هَـؤُلاء وَهَـؤُلاء مِنْ عَطَاء رَبِّكَ وَمَا كَانَ عَطَاء رَبِّكَ مَحْظُورًا Kullan numiddu haolai wahaolai min AAatai rabbika wama kana AAatao rabbika mahthoora(n) To each-these and those – We-SWT extend the bestowal of your Rabb-SWT , and the bestowal of your Rabb-SWT is never restrained. (17:20) |
Onthur kayfa faddalna baAAdahum AAala baAAdin walalakhiratu akbaru darajatin waakbaru tafdeela(n) See you! How We-SWT have preferred some of them over some others; and surely the Hereafter is greater in degrees and greater in preferment. (17:21) |
لاَّ تَجْعَل مَعَ اللّهِ إِلَـهًا آخَرَ فَتَقْعُدَ مَذْمُومًا مَّخْذُولاً La tajAAal maAAa Allahi ilahan akhara fataqAAuda mathmooman makhthoola(n) Set not up along with Allaah-SWT another god, lest you sit down reproved, renounced. (17:22) |
